bfp design & install for new ECO homes

bfp state of the art fire safety systems for eco homes

bfp have been working with Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) to design & install state of the art fire systems.  The project which has seen SSE build  ten 'zero carbon' homes outside its depot in Chalvey, is in response to a government proposal that all new homes should be carbon free by 2016.

The eco homes which release no carbon emissions are being developed for environmentally conscious residents in Slough.

A spokeswoman for the SSE said: "The reason for building the homes ourselves is that we will be able to monitor them closely, and the information gleaned will help us understand how householders respond and adapt to zero carbon living.  "Each home will be completely eco - they will have features such as solar tiled roofs, and a renewable district heating system, rainwater harvesting and recycling, triple glazed windows, enhanced insulation, smart meters, and all the latest energy efficient appliances inside."

bfp designed two fire safety solutions for the properties one state of the art and one more standard system.  Mike Foster of bfp says ' it was great to be involved in a project leading the way in eco living.  Our fire safety systems use state of the art technology that is environmentally friendly whilst meeting all the necessary fire regulations.
